
President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in March 2010 (ACA). The goal of the plan is to significantly increase the number of individuals who have medical insurance.

First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone who has recently graduated from any level of education as well as all of the family members and friends who supported you along the way. You did a fantastic job, and each and every one of you should be very proud of yourselves.

I am sure that most of you, if not all of you, are all familiar with the statement, “Knock 'em dead.” It is usually given as a well-wish or send-off for someone about to give a performance or a speech.
All of us have at some point found ourselves in a situation where it is necessary to have a difficult conversation with our co-worker, supervisor or employee. These times can be extremely uncomfortable, because if not handled correctly, the potential for future misunderstanding and conflict is high.
As a coach and trainer, I’ve come to recognize that stress is one of the most common problems that professionals struggle with on a day-to-day basis.
Seems like even at this stage of my life I still find myself having those “ah-ha moments.” You know that moment when the light bulb has gone off in your head and you suddenly get it, or a solution to a problem pops into your head.
Over the past 17-plus years I have either been treated personally at local hospitals or have had family members and friends end up in the clinic, emergency room or hospital.
Have you ever considered yourself to be a minimalist in any area of your life? Becoming a minimalist takes work and needs to be done in moderation, at least for me.
So what is an acceptable level of tolerance? I guess the answer is really situational, as in some instances we can be or become extremely tolerant and in other cases find our patience being tried and maybe even fried.
Lately I have found myself in conversations with people about how complicated their lives have become, or how complex situations at work or at home have created a feeling of being uptight or stressed out.
Sometimes it is easy to become overwhelmed and super-focused with everything that we believe matters in our lives — our families, friends, job, school, and all of our stuff and all of our activities that we pursue or collect — that we forget to find time for a little “nothing.”
