More than 150 business leaders attended the City of Centennial's Fourth Annual Best of Centennial business recognition dinner with host Scott Hastings of Altitude Sports & Entertainment.

Entrepreneur of the Year was awarded to Colorado Vault & Safe Deposit Box Co. As the only private safe deposit box company in Colorado, the company's mission is to provide a safe and secure alternative to traditional financial institutions by offering a private storage with 24-hour accessibility.

The Company of the Year (large business) Award went to National Cinemedia, a media company reaching U.S. consumers in movie theaters, online and through mobile technology. National Cinemedia reaffirmed its commitment to doing business in Centennial by consolidating and redesigning its corporate headquarters office this year.

Altitude Sports & Entertainment received the Company of the Year (small business) Award. Seen in more than three million homes in a 10-state territory Altitude Sports & Entertainment is the official television network of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. Altitude is not only committed to showcasing the region's top sports teams, but also televising cultural, political and entertainment programming.

The Mayor's Award of Excellence went to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office. Since the City's founding in 2001, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office has served the citizen, businesses and traveling public with pride and integrity. The Sheriff's Office continues to provide quality levels of public safety services within established best practices and with a dedicated focus on effectiveness and efficiencies. This Office has earned four internationally recognized accreditations.

The Centennial Youth Commission presented an Award for Environmental Stewardship to Bio-Intervention Specialists. They deliver innovative, next-generation solutions to healthcare facilities throughout the U.S. based on Electro-BioCide, an environmentally friendly and state-of-the-art hospital-grade disinfectant. Founded in 2009, Bio-Intervention Specialists brings advanced science to the challenge of disinfection helping to substantially improve patient safety and quality and providing the safest healthcare environment available today.

Two companies were recognized for Project of the Year, IKEA Centennial and Celebrity Lanes. IKEA Centennial, a 415,000 square foot retail destination opened July 27, 2011 three months earlier than anticipated. Built on a 13.5 acre site, IKEA Centennial is the second largest store in the U.S. This project created more than 500 construction related jobs, and the store itself created 400 permanent retail and management positions. Celebrity Lanes is a 50,000 square foot family entertainment center with 32 regular bowling lanes, two 4-lane VIP Suites themed after the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets, Rocky's Arcade and Soft Play game room. Celebrity Lanes was developed by Centennial-based Kelmore Development, has Altitude Sports & Entertainment branded elements and was built by Saunders Construction.

Dry Creek Discount Liquors was selected as the Citizens' Choice Award. As a private, locally and family-owned small business, Dry Creek Liquors has existed in Centennial since the City's inception, remaining a staple in the community. Dry Creek Liquors is ServSafe Alcohol Certified through the National Restaurant Association and takes a proactive role in preventing underage drinking and keeping intoxicated individuals off the road.

Sabor Mexican Grill was recognized as the Flavor of the Year. Founded in 2008 by brothers Jaime and Eduardo Contreras, Sabor is the classic mom-n-pop restaurant located on Arapahoe Road just east of Peoria.
