B'nai B'rith First Jewish Organization Honored B'nai B'rith Denver has been named recipient of the Fifteenth Annual Heritage Award presented by the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society and Beck Archives. An honorary dinner will be held May 4, 2009, at the BMH Synagogue where B'nai B'rith Denver will become the first Organization to receive this prestigious award. In the past, the RMJHS had bestowed this honor only upon individuals. B'nai B'rith Denver is being recognized as Denver's first and oldest Jewish organization, supporting humanitarian causes throughout Colorado for more than 137 years. On behalf of B’nai B’rith Denver, Mr. Charles Schayer, Jr., a fourth generation member, will be accepting the award. Several of B’nai B’rith’s past presidents and/or their families will also be acknowledged at the dinner and will receive medallions commemorating their past years of service to the organization. This year’s Award Dinner will also premiere an exciting new documentary that celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Denver’s Jewish Community entitled “Blazing the Trail.” For more information and reservations please contact Ed Koplin (303) 355-2715 or the B'nai B'rith Office (303) 393-7358.cost
