A fascinating observation made by another reader on another version of this article: How did the district lose enough low-performing 3rd-10th graders between March and August to cause such a discrepancy in the percentages of students scoring proficient and advanced? Where did these low-performing students go?
Also, how is it that Ms. Morgan defines decreases in tcap scores of less than 3% "not statistically significant", yet an increase of just 1% in science scores is "remarkable"? It's all spin and inaccuracies, designed to detract from the major problems the School Board has created in our district. Don't take their words at face value. Research and find accurate information yourselves, voters. Strong Schools Coalition is a great place to start.
