Local boy third in state skills competition

Alec Crosby, a fourth grader at Meadowview Elementary, recently placed first in the Denver metro area sectionals of the Denver Nuggets Basketball Skills Challenge. He went on to win third place in the statewide challenge March 11.
Crosby plays hoops in the Castle Rock Recreation Center’s basketball program in the 9-10 year old age group. He has played roundball since he was a toddler and aspires to someday play for the Nuggets.
Next year, Crosby hopes to take first in the statewide level of the skills challenge, he said.
