- Young cellist stars with Arapahoe Philharmonic

Arapahoe Philharmonic will perform music from Germany and Austria at 7:30 p.m. March 9 at Mission Hills Church, 620 Southpark Drive, Littleton.
The program will include Bach’s Tocata and Fugue BWV D-minor, Stokowski transcription. (The big organ piece you hear on old-time movies in the dungeons under the cathedral). The T. Gordon Parks Collegiate Concerto Competition winner, cellist Lauren Posey, a graduate student at the University of Utah, will play Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 Op. 60 in B Flat major will complete the program. The concerto contest was started by the late director T. Gordon Parks, is sponsored by Universal Music and awards the winning young musician $2,000.
