A visitor takes some time to reflect at the 9/11 Memorial Aug. 25 in New York City. The memorial opened two years ago on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 Terror Attacks. A total of 2,016 people died in the collapse of the Twin Towers, accounting for just a portion of lives lost that day.
The New York City skyline may no longer include the World Trade Center's Twin Towers but the memorial pools that sit on the foundations of each building show the names of all lives lost in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001; including each of the flights, the Pentagon and the Twin Towers.
The captain of United Flight 93 that crashed into the World Trade Center, Jason Dahl, is one of more than 2,000 names on the 9/11 Memorial at the site of where the Twin Towers once stood in New York City. Dahl was from Ken Caryl. He was 43 at the time of his death.
