El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa and members of the El Paso County Citizens Budget Oversight Committee will join the Board of County Commissioner Chair Amy Lathen for a town hall meeting Sept. 28.
Residents questions will be answered about all aspects of county government as well as participate in an in-depth discussion on the Sheriff's Office County Ballot Question 1-A.
County Ballot Question 1-A is an important public safety question for voters to decide. It concerns emergency preparedness, emergency response and the statutory obligations of the sheriff's office to provide critical public safety services to all citizens in the county and the safety of our deputies both in the jail and on patrol. Maketa and Lathen will outline the critical needs he has shared with Citizens Budget Oversight Committee and the Board of County Commissioners and review how those needs have developed over time.
We encourage citizens to attend and bring their questions or concerns. The town hall meeting will take place from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 28 at The Community Room at the Stetson Hills Police Station located at 4110 Tutt Boulevard in Colorado Springs.
