Two subcommittees of the Black Forest Fire Long Range Recovery Group will meet on Friday, July 12, at the Charles C. “Chuck” Brown Transportation and Environment Complex, 3275 Akers Drive. The facility is located just west of Marksheffel Road between Constitution Avenue and North Carefree.
El Paso County Commissioner Dennis Hisey, liaison to the Land Development Codes Subcommittee will host a meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12, in the Training Room West at the Brown Transportation and Environment Complex.
The meeting will include an update on the Land Development Codes that have been temporarily modified for the properties affected by the 2013 Black Forest Fire. Discussions will also be had in regards to recommendations to take to the full Steering Committee regarding making the permitting process more user friendly. Participation from those directly affected by the fire and those engaged in the recovery process will be welcomed.
El Paso County Commissioner Amy Lathen, Chair to the Clean Up and Debris Removal Subcommittee will host a meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12, in the Training Room West at the Brown Transportation and Environment Complex
This meeting will include follow up and more discussion on the processes and resources necessary and other information regarding the clean up and debris removal of the Black Forest Fire burn area. Topics of discussion will include debris removal, permitting, tree mitigation, wells and septic. Black Forest community resident volunteers on the subcommittee task force are vetting key items addressed in this subcommittee’s meeting held Monday July 8. Some action items that will be brought back to this meeting include needs for dumpsters, portalets, park restroom and hand washing facilities, 501C3, heavy metals water testing, saw mill proposal, contractors/permits.
