Are you people for real? This "Wake The Lake" committee has been going on for years now and it's a complete joke. We are in a drought pattern and have been for some time now. Why would you want to fill Palmer Lake with aquifer water, when the town can't even afford to hydrate it's own population? As of now we are already on water restrictions. Do you realize what a complete waste of energy and resources this endeavor would be? The lake is gone folks, and it might or might not come back naturally. And guess what, pretty soon water will get so expensive and valuable that you really won't be able to fill the lake anyway. This "Wake the Lake" committee is grasping at straws and is totally refusing to see the big picture of the changing Palmer Divide environment. If Hulsmann wants to keep the bikers flocking to his dive bar by keeping an "attractive" environment and "pretty" lake, then let him fork over the money to pull all of that precious water out of the aquifer, just so he can have a nice view off the deck of O'Malley's. And as far as I know, Hullsman doesn't have a hydrology background and has no concept of the sheer acreages involved or the amount of evaporation and seepage that occurs on a body of water that size. This would be a major folly to even think about filling the lake with millions of gallons of H20 and a total disgrace to the community. -Jason W.6 months ago
