A well written article about how to take care of oral health of toddlers and children. Dietary consideration is most important for oral health. Raw grass fed milk, cheese; yogurt, fish etc should be part of the regular diet because these foods are rich in nutrients like vitamins and minerals like calcium and phosphorus. These vital components are needed for healthy bones and teeth of children. However whole grain products should be avoided because they contain phytic acid which is a toxin and it contributes to tooth decay. You can get some more information on side effects of whole grains here http://www.curetoothdecay.com/Tooth_Decay/whole_grains_cause_tooth_decay.htm
Also I do not agree that fluoride should be given as it does more harm than good .Fluoride is known to produce toxic effects in body. It should also be avoided. I suggest this book “Cure tooth decay” by Ramiel Nagel in which the author has described the causes of tooth decay and has given an effective diet plan which not only helps in prevention of cavities in children but also in reversal of tooth decay. It will add to the knowledge of mothers regarding oral health of their children.
