Something tells me you didn't trust the school district to begin with. This article is a great way to spread your generalization of public schools. Good job!
FYI. Did you know that two of the mourning families are actually employees of the district? There is more to the story and your stereotypical anti-anything-public-schools is apparent and noted.Sep 20, 2012
Thoughts and prayers are with the Thompson family. Come on John!!!Mar 20, 2012
brakeman, do you know where the money came from? Let me shed some light on the matter.
Courier View charges $900 for ONE Extra half page add for ONE week. Radio advertising costs $3000 for a two week twice a day plug for your "company". TV ad, $3000 for two ads.
WP school district has alloted around $6000 a year for advertising. For the next 15 years they will only have $2400. Do you want to know why? $3600 will be pulled out of the budget to pay off the $55000 sign in 15 years through an agreement with the city.
365 days of "advertising" for $3600. Less than $10 a day for a 24 hour presence on Hwy 24. From a business stand point (maybe not an asthetic one for some), you cannot deny that this makes sense. Or maybe you can.
I too was a bit unnerved when I saw the price tag, but as I looked into it more, I think it is a brilliant move my the superintendant who is using our tax dollars as wisely he can.Jan 11, 2012
