The driver in a fatal crash on U.S. 36 has been officially charged by Jefferson County District Attorney Peter Weir for the death of her passenger.
Britni Bunn of Broomfield is facing two counts of vehicular homicide, four counts of vehicular assault, possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, failure to provide proof insurance and improper driving on a divided highway.
According to Westminster Police, on Feb. 20 Bunn, 23, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 36 between Wadsworth and Sheridan boulevards when it struck an Acura coup head-on.
Bunn’s passenger, Vincent Gibson, 25 of Broomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Acura, Kendall Stiff, and her passenger were transported to an area hospital. Both were seriously injured. The crash caused the closure of the highway for several hours
Bunn is being held on $20,000 bond.
